I believe that they were referring to new.familysearch.org and not to the new version of familysearch which did not exist at the time the FH Consultant Guide was written.
By the way my belief is that the updating of the FH Consultant Guide is due! – or overdue!

“If you have Internet access, you can use the Help Center in the new
FamilySearch to find answers to your questions. Registered consultants
also have access to the Training and Resources section, which provides
links to helpful resources and training.”

When they say “new FamilySearch” do they mean new.familysearch or the new version of familysearch?
